Live & Silent Auction

Why an auction?

The auction will be held to support Virginia Satir Global Network work around the world. At the 2008 Satir Conference we will have an open auction as well as a closed auction and a raffle. The items will be displayed in a "Special Auction Room" and if possible some will be in other areas where it will be easy to see them.

Closed Auction: The closed auction will begin on Sunday, August 3rd and will end on August 5th at 4pm. Some of the auction items will have what we call a "buy out price". If you pay that price the item is yours. More details will be given at the Conference.

Open Auction: Some of the "bigger items" (i.e. accommodations, trips) will be part of the open auction held on Monday, August 4th from 7:30pm to 8:30pm.

Raffle: We will also have 3 big items as a raffle. You can buy tickets at any time and the price of the tickets will depend on the item. This will be raffled off on Tuesday, during the closing banquet.

Disneyland, California
Sharon is donating two tickets to Disneyland, 3-day Bed & Breakfast stay and transportation within Long Beach, California. The Bed & Breakfast is close to many tourist attractions such as The Aquarium of the Pacific, Knott's Berry Farm and of course, Disneyland. Estimated value: $500.00

How to send donations: We are looking for good donations and hoping you can send or bring them ahead of time.

Where to send your donations: If you are not coming or want to send your item ahead of time, you can do so by completing the attached donation form and send it with your item to Sandy Novak. All mailed items are due prior to Monday, July 28th. For all donations we ask that a donation form be completed and accompany the donation. At the conference there will be directions at the registration table for where to take your donations.

Ideas of items

Gift certificates from your favorite store, favorite place, or fair trade organization. For example Margarita is getting a gift certificate for some organic coffee. The coffee is not only organic but it is done through fair trade. So the gift is not only wonderful for those who like good coffee, but it also is from a company you can feel good supporting.

Gift certificates where people can make a choice of what they would like to buy like books or other items. It will be also good that these certificates can be used for people outside the US.

Special Items that you may want to donate that have a historical or local history value. Please write a brief description of the "historical value" of the item. Or you may have some handmade items.

Any questions may be emailed to Margarita Suarez
