I have just returned from travels and work in Southeast Asia. I spent time, albeit brief, in Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia and Hong Kong. Roger Harmon, one of our Satir brothers was our guide. If you ever get an opportunity to travel with him, do it. We left Thailand the same day that the tsunami hit. Though our trip was a blessed one, we like the rest of the world, were and are stunned by the disaster. Life is so impermanent and precious.

I met many members of our Asian Satir family. The Hong Kong Satir Center, as well as other Satir operations, are so very impressive. The training they received from Jane Gerber, John Banmen, and Maria Gomori has taken hold. They are continuing to deepen their knowledge and skill base all the while sharing Satir with others in a most beautiful way.

I hope that 2005 will bring us closer to the truth of our connectedness as members of a global Satir family. I hope we will each use more of our Satir teachings in our lives. We and our world need the truth and compassion of congruence.

A number of you responded to my recent lengthy update from the board. Thank you. It is supportive to know your hopes and desires for and with Avanta. You have much to read in this bulleting, so this letter is short. I hope you have marked your calendars and invite someone to join you for our summer conference, July 29 - August 1 in Waterloo, Ontario. I look forward to sharing that experience with you.
