New Guidelines for Avanta Institutes
–
Michael T. Callaghan

In response
to concerns from members and others the Board has decided to simplify the
process for forming a Satir Institute. There will also no longer be a
distinction between the status of the current Institutes and Affiliates and
all will be linked to Avanta. For your information the Board resolutions and
revised guidelines are reprinted here.
The Board
passed the following three resolutions:
-
That the process for
becoming a Satir Institute be simplified and the distinction between
Affiliates and Institutes be dropped.
-
That the use of the Satir
name is granted initially for a period of two years by the Avanta Board or
Executive Director to those who want to set up a not-for-profit legal
entity. Three letters of support from Avanta members are required. If no
progress is made in forming the legal entity after two years, permission
to use the name is withdrawn.
-
That the guidelines for
Institutes be re-written to reflect the above.
