A Little of "This 'n That" - 2006 Satir Conference - John Banmen & Margarita Suarez

We, the Board of Directors, are delighted with the many people who have agreed to present at the Satir Birthday Conference in August. We now hope that all of you will join us in what promises to be a great conference. Programs have been mailed to all members. Non-members are welcome. Please attend and invite your colleagues to join us. Visit www.avanta.net for details for the 2006 Satir Conference.

Register early for the Satir Conference and Save $$

May 1st is the last day for early bird registration. Regular registrations will be accepted up to July 8th. There are still a few guests rooms with toilets at Dumas Bay Center available. Once those guests rooms are gone, rooms without toilets will be assigned.

Poster Presentations

The Satir Conference has a very full schedule. At the same time we know there are those of you who would like to present. Unfortunately time does not permit it. However, we invite you to do a poster presentation. If you are interested please contact the Avanta office for details.

Birthday Celebration Book Honoring Virginia Satir

I am compiling (and editing) short responses to the question "how did Virginia Satir and her teachings impact your life and work?" Several requests have been made through the Avanta office in the past. We do have a fairly large number of 1-5 pages of writings to date.

We still have time and space to include your response at this late date. We plan to have the publication for sale at the Satir Birthday Conference in August.  Please response to John Banmen by email at jbanmen@dccnet.com

Applications of the Satir Growth Model

We now have the manuscript ready for printing. The book consist of 15 chapters written by Avanta members covering many of the favorite topics of the model. We plan to have the book ready for purchase at the Satir Birthday Conference in August. If you want a copy of the table of contents, please email John Banmen at jbanmen@dccnet.com and request a copy.

Silent Auction at the Satir Conference

We will be having a silent auction at this year's Satir Conference. All proceeds from this auction goes towards Avanta programs. Like in the past this gives all of us several ways to participate: donating items for the Auction; betting on items for us and for gifts to others, and enjoying healthy competition as we bid on the items. There will not be an open auction this year given the schedule of the conference. However, we have confirmed that Karen Krestensen will bring her yummy home made taffy. For answers to your questions contact Maureen Graves at maugrav@aol.com or 402.932.3584.
