Membership Report
- Maureen Graves
Greetings to all of you,
As I am writing this note for our newsletter, I am still feeling
inspired from being with so many people that came to the 2006 Conference.. What a rich time it!
My
only frustration was that I did not get enough time to spend with each
person that was present.. I want to thank all who made this Conference such
a success. It was all the individual contributions that made such a
beautiful experience for all of us.
Auction
Before I share more about my "job" on
the Avanta Board, I also want to thank everyone who participated in our
silent and live auction this year. About 40 of you brought and/or sent
items for the auction. And more than 60 participated in the silent auction,
open auction or both. The total raised for this year was $7,778. I also want
to thank our two auctioneer for the open auction, Steven Buckbee and Michael
Dupont, who made us laugh while helping raise money for Avanta. You can see
Michael with "Jiffy", the giraffe, in the photo gallery of this newsletter.
As it has been
said before, we on the Board are taking on activities (jobs) that were being
done by the Central Office. For me it is to oversee and connect with
members, Institutes and Sister Organization. We, the Board and Central
Office, are working on all the details of what this job is and will be in
the future.
For
members:
I am looking forward to my interaction with each and all of you. I will do
my best to be informed and keep you informed when there are new happenings
for members. One of Margarita's many gifts was letting us know when an
excitement or a tragedy happened in a member's life. So please do contact me
maugrav@aol.com for connection,
support and for news you would like us to pass on to the membership.
For the
Institutes and Sisters Organizations:
Part of my job is to be the liaison between the Board and the
Institutes/Sister Organization. They held a meeting at the Satir Conference
with Michael Callaghan presiding. Many of the Institutes and Sister Organization had
posters showing their work at the Conference. It was a beautiful heart felt
sight to see the work that is being done around the world. They also had a
meeting at the Conference and shared about their work, as well as how to
continue to share and support each other.
Also as Sherry
Heinze shared in her section of the newsletter, there are now two possible
ways for Institutes and Sister Organizations to connect with each other. A
reminder that there is also a lot of information about their work on the
Avanta Website. Remember to continue to let us know about your activities.
I hope you have
a good rest of 2006 and that you can join us in Prague next May for our 2007
Conference and Annual Meeting. It will be a very special time to connect in
that beautiful part of the world.
Love and Peace,
Maureen
